SPECIAL PROGRAMS:

Pre-School Story Hour:
You won’t want to miss our Pre-School Story Hour held each Tuesday and Wednesday from 11-11:30 a.m. during the school year. Between the laughs we work on social skills, colors, shapes, and numbers. We read a few books, sing a bit, make a craft, and enjoy a snack.

Book Discussion:
Our fabulously friendly Book Discussion group meets the third Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. New members are always welcome. Call the library for the list of books.

Outreach to Senior Housing:
Monthly we rotate a very nice collection of print material, including large print and paperbacks, as well as books on cassette and CD, to the village's senior housing complex.

Silent Auction:
Our annual Silent Auction is always a winner. Stop in during the second week of October to bid on practical as well as whimsical items. High bidders will be announced at noon on Saturday.

Christmas Tree Trimming:
Mark your calendar for the first Wednesday in December at 6:30 p.m. We will have the tree set up and ask that your young people help put on the decorations. Cookies and hot chocolate are served afterward. The tree also serves as a Sock Tree. We ask that you bring a pair of new socks to put on the tree. The socks will be distributed to residents of Grace Place.

American Girl Tea Party:
The Girls are returning in January for two tea parties. Be prepared to enjoy a full tea with food typical of that served during our highlighted doll's time. Parents, you are invited to stay with your children and even help serve. Space is limited so pre-registration is required, and there will be a $2.50 per child fee. These two programs always are sold out so please make your reservation early.

National Library Week:
During National Library Week in April we will be collecting aluminum pop top tabs for the kidney dialysis unit for Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater. Please be generous.

Summer Reading Program:
Each summer the library hosts programs held on successive Wednesdays beginning in June. We have some fantasy, some science, a few animals, a storyteller or two, maybe a field trip, and a lot of fun. Dads and Moms, this is an exceptional opportunity for you to spend quality time with your children.
